Finally a decent Italian restaurant! This place is right on the square in Portales. The atmosphere and service are excellent and the food is solid home-style Italian. Don't expect exotic presentation, but the food is very good and portions are decent. The salad was fresh and crunchy and the sauce was sweet. We left full but not uncomfortable.

Our second time there, we had a slight service glitch but the waitress was obviously brand new. Frank Sinatra was crooning on the speaker system and we hardly remembered that we live "out there" on the High Plains. We can't wait until they get the place tuned up a bit and serve a good glass of wine with the meal, which they say is in process.
