Blink and you will miss it, this tiny red and white dollhouse looking building. But inside you will find the hands down BEST BBQ anywhere in Western NC, and maybe even beyond! It is take out only, and be sure to call your order in ahead of time because they stay so busy that you may have to wait a while if you don't. But it is well worth the wait!
Run by Big J and his wife, they make some of the best baby back ribs I have ever eaten, so tender and meaty, and their BBQ sandwiches are delicious too! With homemade sides such as baked beans, coleslaw and potato salad, it is a meal you won't soon forget! They also make their own sauces.
They are closed on Sunday and Monday, and open at 4:30 PM the rest of the week, which is my ONLY complaint! I wanted to go there to get lunch the other day only to find they weren't open yet!
If you want really great BBQ at reasonable prices, Big J's Bubba-Q is the place to eat! I have tried a lot of the BBQ places around the Asheville NC area having lived here most of my life, but none even come close to Big J's! Try it once and you will be hooked too!
