We've used Len Poulin the YOUNGER for three separate jobs and always been delighted with the results. I needed a couple loads of gravel, called his number. Got a quote, said I'd drop a check off on the way home - one can't expect delivery to a total stranger without seeing the cash. I got home to find the gravel already delivered, precisely where I asked to have it. He finished off our 300-foot driveway for about half what I expected it to cost, including 6" of crushed stone, rolled, that was solid as asphalt throughout the winter and into summer.

We just had another large job done - and he was happy to trade us all the materials (over 350 cubic yards of "dead sand") for a motor home we were preparing to sell for what the sand would have cost us. All we paid for was labor of his crew. The work was done quickly, carefully, and left with a professional finish, and VERY affordably, obviously. He and I measured the area to be covered, calculated the volume needed, calculated costs. There were no surprises. He even gave us a discount because of (a) the large volume needed, and (b) the fact that we're only a few miles from his source pit. Hauling sand or gravel doubles the cost once you go over about 15-20 miles.

I suspect the negative review was from someone who had dealt with his FATHER, now retired, about whom I have heard other negatives - though I've never dealt with the man personally. I have nothing but praise for Len Poulin the younger, who now runs this business.
