Authentic, delicious Thai food. From the moment you walk in the door, you are greeted by friendly knowledgable staff. This is so important in a restaurant with strictly one cuisine like Thai food. many people need to ask how thingsa re prepared, what the dishes are. Without knowledgable, competant servers, people are unable to order what is pleasing to the palate. These servers know the ingredients, preparation and spicing. They also have thorough knowledge of the different beers, wines and sakes. This restaurant is appropriately priced with portions to go with the pricing.Our close friends wife was borm and raised for some years prior to immigrating and she has cooked for us. But when you are at a restaurant it is different. Our fiend is an excellent cook and therefore we were excited when Thai Erawan opened and hopeful that the food would be great and it is!!!.
While the menu is large, it is not overwhelming and they have the right amount of different foods for you tio experience different Thai dishes. We have been there as a couple and with friends. On one of our first visits we decided each to order an appetizer and all share a small portion. This restaurant will customize the "heat - spiciness" of the dishes from mild to hot to THAI hot. You can also ask for more of the spicing to be brought to the table. Ask for the fish sauce also - just small bit on the side. This also provides heat and spice.This worked well as we all could try a small portion of different dishes. We continued to do the same with our entrees and our taste buds sang to the difference of flavors and tastes and it was so wonderful to be able to try so many different dishes. It allowed us to get an idea of what we may want to eat or try the next time. As for dessert, it is authentic and unbeliveable - coconut ice cream is so refreshing after a spicy meal. We so thoroughly enjoed our dinners and the atmosphere and the time we could visit with our friends. Everyone at our table was impressed.
You can visit with friends or have a romantic meal here. While they do not have a childrens menu, you can simply get rice or share a dish with the younger ones.
Food, service, ambiance, this place is an 11 on scale of 1-10! One of our favorite places to dine and relax.
