great for spicy food lovers: my mom, whom i consider to be the foremost authority on good bay area chinese food, took me to this place in oakland chinatown recently.
it was very busy when we showed up for dinner (always a good sign). the food is szechuanese (think spicy) and is fairly authentic according to my mom.
the menu is huge, and may be overwhelming to chinese food neophytes. i definitely wanted to get all the foods i can't find at your typical asian eatery, so we ordered stinky tofu, bitter melon, on choy, and dan dan mein. all the food was tasty--nice and spicy--and arrived very quickly.
i've also heard that their spicy beef noodles are excellent. i'm anxious to come back and find out for myself.
prices are moderate/reasonable and one bonus is that they stay open pretty late (at least until midnight most nights).
