Too pricey.

Doctors, equipment - everything was fine until we received a hospital bill.
My wife had amniocentesis and all internet researches and talks with doctor that recommended that were saying that cost should be 1000-2000$. Charge was more than 6400$ for hospital and doctor!
That was more than 3 times than our worst expectations (and what was told it might approximately be). And after we asked for explanation of services provided, we received only a bill. No explanation at all.
What is a deal? Should you check the price and bargain for each service when you go to visit a doctor?

Really disappointed.
Be healthy, stay away from doctor - especially from this hospital.

One star - I had strange feeling that they look at us as a pile of money they can take as much they want.
