$65 fees on the -$2.53 balance of 5 days

Key bank is one of the nice bank in US and I am happy with my account also.

But recently I received letter from Key bank on the fee of $65.50 for the negative balance of $2.53 for 5 days. Unfortunately I didn't know the low balance of my account and just fill up the gas to my car at gas station. Anyway negative balance happened.

I called to the Keybank to find any solution to wave the fee in fully or partially. The banker told me that same fee is applied to any minus balance regardless the amount. In order words, same fee is applied to -$2 balance and -$2,000,000 balance. And there is no way to reduce or wave the fee.

I read the bank makes money with high fee to the customer in the news paper and I became one of such customers.

I found also the ATM machine of Keybank does not tell the account balance. Is there any intention to blocking the balance disclosure?
