Not Happy This was our first and last time. We arrived on a Friday evening to find it almost impossible to enter the resort due to golf cart and bicycle traffic. People were everywhere. Lots of teens hanging out smoking and cussing. This place is definitely set up for the weekend party lover. As Sunday came most campers left. Momentarily the campground was peaceful until the thunderstorms set in. I am not blaming Bethpage Camp-Resort for the rain. It would have been nice had the campground informed us of this when we made our reservations. We had four inches of water in our campsite three different times during our stay. Several campsites on Holly, Dogwood. and Juniper saw lots of standing water. Two different groups had to leave their sites due to the rain. Keep the flooding in mind when you choose a site. The bathhouse was also poor; a pull cord shower and at least one of the three toilets stayed plugged.
Good points; the staff was courteous, the place was clean, during the week the campground was quiet, the ice cream was good, and putt-putt was fun.
Suggestions; 1. If you stay here make sure you stay further back than Juniper. These sites did not seem to flood. 2. Try the Ice Cream. 3. 'Something Different' is just up the road (Try the AppleChain, The Virginia Sandwich, and their homemade Ice Cream). 4. Shores & Roark for steamed crabs. (keep in mind a bushel is a lot of crabs). 5. J&W Seafood is located in Deltaville (a great seafood market). Try the crab and spinach dip.
