I have been metal detecting for about 30 yrs now. I've used several different detectors during that time. Couple of yrs ago I decided to buy a Minelab Detector (Explorer SE) for land hunting and beaches. I began to search for a local dealer online and found Gold Digger Metal Detectors. I contacted Ron at Gold Digger and made the trip down there to get his professional opinion on my type of hunting. After listening to Ron and checking out all the different brands of detectors I decided to stick with the Minelab Explorer SE. The machine worked great. So when Minelab came out with the E-Trac, I had to upgrade. At one point I had a problem in the field with the detector, couldn't figure out what was wrong, so I called Ron from Gold Digger Metal Detectors. He tried to resolve the problem over the phone by walking me thru the programing but unfortunately I couldn't get it to work. Ron then asked me to drop off the detector so he could work on it, so I took the ride down to his shop. To make a long story short, he couldn't find the problem either, so he decided to send it out to Minelab. Ron took care of everything, he shipped it out and was able to get my detector back in one week. When I was at his shop picking up my detector Ron got a phone call from another enthusiast. This person asked for help with his detector, and Ron helped him out. By the way this person didn't even purchase the machine from him. I've dealt with other dealers and I would be told, oh, you have to call the manufacturer. I was very impressed, now that's what I call GREAT customer service.
