Holiday Inn

Middletown, NY
Hotels and Motels, Other Lodging

Review Date: 10/26/2009

The hotel was very clean, as opposed to reviews of other hotels in the area. We arrived late (8:30) and the pool is open only till 9, but they let us stay in there late, which was very nice of them. The problem we had was the person in the next room was locked out by the safety latch, and his son wouldnt answer the door for him. He stood in the hallway YELLING at 2:30 in the morning, waking us all. We asked him to stop, but he appeared drunk and started swearing at us. We called the front desk, and they said they would take care of it. The front desk then proceeded to call the guys room, over and over, for over half an hour. I called them and asked them to stop, obviously the kid wasnt going to answer. They said the guy locked out wanted to get to sleep. I said So do we! They stopped for about 20 minutes, and started calling the room again! Over and over! We decided at 5:30 sleeping was a lost cause and went to make coffee, the pot was missing the basked and the glass pot. We went to the lobby, the guy from next door was sitting in a chair and they were out of complimentary coffee in the lobby. We spoke to the front desk clerk and told them they handled the situation that night very poorly and asked for the manager. They said he wouldnt be available that day. So we went back to the room. While checking out, another clerk was on duty and said she heard about our situation, and contacted the manager of the hotel. The manager comped our room, refunding our money. We were very upset by the situation, but glad the manager took initiative to apologize for the situation. Still not sure if we would stay here again, as we are also Priority Club members and received no perks from this location.
