What a beautiful weekend in the Berkshires, we lucked out with the weather after all the rain that passed through Massachusetts this summer. We were finally able to enjoy a weekend away and what a great time we had staying at the Stockbridge Country Inn. The first thing we noticed was the greeting we received upon arrival, Diane & Vernon are the nicest innkeepers we have ever met and were always there to show us which places we should visit, how to organize our trip, they even gave us free tickets to the Norman Rockwell Museum which was great. The exhibit was perfect, and we were able to walk to the museum it's literally steps from the Inn. There is also Chesterwood which is also next door but we didn't have time because of my husband's commitment to his family but we were able to sightsee many of the Berkshire's Best things.
We stayed in the Stockbridge Country Suite which was HUGE!! We were given the largest room of our choice and it has a private seating area too, we needed the extra space for my stuff :-) The room is A+ very clean, the furnishings are high-end very comfortbale, our rate I think was $300+ per night but it was so big other places were charging $450+ for the busy holiday weekend.
Breakfast was terrific, all homemade from scratch and Diane is a master chef. The service staff is very friendly and provided every amenity we could have asked for.
The grounds are lush, very private and the Inn sits up on high on a hill away from the hustle and bustle of town but closest Inn to almost every major Berkshire attraction, the location can't be beat.
Overall excellent stay, we will be visiting again and may consider renewing our wedding vows there because the grounds are perfect setting and so beautiful for a private ceremony.
