Como Steak House

When I first moved to MS my wife and I started coming to Como Steak house for a great night out, good food, fun & freindly service and fantastic atmosphere. My recent visit there this past Saturday barely had the latter.

I called early in the evening to make reservations but was told they only took reservations for 8 or more. No problem. We arrived and the wait was just less than an hour and we were seated at a "card table" with metal folding chairs in the lower level. Not too bad because we knew the food would make up for it. I ordered a KS Bone in Strip med rare. When the food arrived I couldn't cut through it with a chainsaw. The veins or gristle marbled the meat. It was beyond rediculous and for the price, c'mon!

I grabbed the nearest waitress and told her the meat was tough, she was not surprised at all and immediatly took it and told me she would have another sent right away. Well, right away came and wen and the rest of the party finished their dinner when mine arrived. The fries were not cooked and the steak was rare. I had a few bites and had enough. No manager or apologies for the delay or poor quality of food.

We asked for the check and when we were presented with a check WITH A TIP included we were all mad. They wanted to charge us like a party of 8 without the courtesy of making a reservation and serve sub par beef, ill cooked and without an apology or even a visit from the manager.
I asked the waitress to call the mngr over. When he showed up and we told him all of the above he first said there has been automatic tip added to party of 6 or more for 10 years, that was BS. When Cindy ran it that was not the case, and we usually tip a minimum of 20%. He did offer to remove the 17% gratuity but he was missing the whole point, told him that wasn't fair because the waitress shouldn't be penalized for the house mistake, (poor quality of meat). He said he could comp the steak but did not. While we were still talking he walked off. He did not return, we paid the bills as they were and left. Here we are 3 days later and I am still angry over the incident. We do not plan on returning and plan on telling anyone that will listen of the horrible service and food we received there. I am very dissappointed in the quality of food and customer service your restaurant offers. That is the type of product one can expect from Outback or Lonestar in the Memphis area but not from The Como Steak House. I can get a good piece of meat from my own freezer and cook it the way I like it. When I go out I expect to be treated with respect and liike you care. Didn't see any of that this weekend. With that kind of service it won't be long before there is a boutique or pizza business where your grills are now
