In late July, the wife and I stayed in a lower tier-priced room with a shared restroom (with only one other room). But even though we were trying to save money, we found a great inn to come back to again and again.
The building is laid out very close to the center of Weirs Beach. In this quaint, neon beach strip on Lake Winnepasauke there are lake cruises, bars and grille, and even a real live drive-in with first-run movies! (As well as being only 2 miles from Funspot, the Largest Arcade in the World--no lie.) Weirs Beach is also the home of "Bike Week", an annual motorcycle rally at the end of June that has been going on for more than 80 years.
Nestled on a hill 150 yards from the Pier and the main drag of Weirs Beach, only a complete moron would not be stunned by the low price and unique charm of this Victorian style home with wrap around front porch. Parking is great and there are TWO pools. (that is not a typo--I actually wrote the words "two pools".)
The inn's owner and friendly staff (with Dyan and Nicole in their starring roles as "the friendly staff") found ways to save us money without compromising quality. The full sized fridge and small kitchenette in the common area allowed my wife and I to make our own breakfast and lunch thus saving money for the night life where we like to boogie. They even lent us use of a cooler for the beach, when we had left ours at home! Dyan and Nicole ROCK!
Got an hankering for a romantic getaway and like your vacation spots hokey but not too honky-tonk? Go to Weirs Beach and then check into the classy hilltop home of the Cozy Inn and Cottages.
