West Side Skates has been supporting the local skateboard scene in Cleveland , Lakewood , and surrounding suburbs for almost 15 years . Very friendly and knowledgeable owner Brian Jules has the kindred local spirit much like Ken Schneider did when Schneider Bikes was opened . There's always the few kids that just need " one bolt " , or " one bearing " , which they can find free of charge at West Side Skates . Since moving last January into a larger building , West Side Skates continues to expand . An art gallery with seating is in the works , as well as a projector setup to premiere new skateboard films such as Alien Workshop's " Mindfield " , Flip's " Extremely Sorry " , and locally shot skateboarders .
