Dock of the Bay is not a fancy place. You can come as you are, from the road, from the beach, from the tent. We went last Saturday night and had one of the best meals ever. My husband ordered a rib steak dinner and I the oyster dinner. Simple choices: baked or fries, coleslaw or green salad. The steak was perfectly rare. No seasoning, just meat. The oysters were dredged in flour and pan fried, again, no seasoning. These were the plumpest, juiciest, best oysters I have ever eaten. The potatoes were like when I was a kid, with butter, salt and pepper.
It is about 130 miles from where we live and we both agree we would make a day trip and go back for another meal.
