Do not eat here!!! You will waste your money for poor quality and decent service. Yes, the environment is inviting and the decor provides a beautfil ambiance, but that's all your getting.
The lighting is very dim which at first appears nice, but you can't engage in conversation with your friends nor enjoy your food ebcause you can barely see who you are talking to or what your eating. What a huge disappointment.
I ordered the ginger fried rice (but added chicken to it - they added 3 more dollars because of that) and the mushroom buns. Whenever I eat out, I am always skeptical in terms of the tastefulness of the food but it was my friend's birthday so I could not just turn her down.
Anyways, once I got my food I was pleased with the portion size of my rice but not so much for the buns. They were two small pieces of bread with tiny mushrooms and bean sprouts within them. It was not flavorful at all. In fact, the dish tasted like water. I was not pleased. Mind you, it costed eight dollars. The rice was better but my chicken was slightly burned and the rice was undercooked.
On top of that, our server, who was initially nice, became sour for some odd reason. He would buss our table in a very aggressive way and just snatch the plates off the table. Also, when I requested for a pen (to pay for my order) he threw it on the table. Tisk tisk!
In total, my meal cost $16!!! For what? I do not know. I mean, I kept thinking that it was better for me to eat at McDonalds. I could have gotten a lot for the value, but also quality. That's sounds shocking I know, but Soba's food quality is just that POOR!
As for my friends, they enjoyed their pad thai (which was a pricey $18). To me, it was not that good, especially for the price. Plus, the assembly of the plate lacked alot of visual qualities. It looked as though they just toppled brown noodles on the plate, with loads of meat around it and a touch of green of cilantro on top for "color". Please.
Save yourself for money and trouble by not going here! It's not worth it.
