The Yahoo rating of "Awful" about sums this place up. I went in for my first visit because I was referred to Jane because she did a great job on a coworker's hair for a reasonable price. When I went in for my visit, she was not so friendly and she decided to take a cell phone call while she was coloring my hair. This would not have been an issue had she said, "Oh, excuse me for one second...it might be a client". She instead kept coloring my hair & chatting with a client or friend on her cell for quite some time. When she put me back under the drier, my scalp was burning & she left me back there past when the timer went off at her station...but thankfully my hair looked okay & it didnt' fall out.
The 2nd time I went to the salon, I called Stacy to book an appointment for my bridal party updos/my bridal updo. Stacy informed me she was coming in on her day off to do the updos so it was not necessary to give her the names of the people getting hair/make-up done. When I went in for my practice updo, she did a horrible job and when I told her I thought it needed to be pushed down some rather than being on the top of my head, she said not to worry about it because it would look better when she did the real thing. She didn't attempt to try to make it look any different during the practice. She instead went to look at her schedule while I wrote out the check for around $40 for the practice updo and then informed me that she already had a bridal party booked for the day of my wedding! I thought she might have been mistaken and the party she wrote down was indeed me as she assured me on the phone she was coming in on the Saturday just for my party. She shouted around to Jane and one other girl to check their availability, but it almost seemed like she was being snide while checking with them...like they were trying to make me feel bad. Of course, no one else had time on my wedding day for my party. She said she just didn't have room, didn't care what she had told me on the phone, she took my money for the practice updo even though that was not the ethical thing to do after SHE screwed up big time AND when she asked me if I wanted to keep my hair up & I told her no, she said, "Well, you can take it out because I have my next appointment here already..." I left the salon (with my 8 year old daughter) in tears. THANKFULLY, I called around & got into Beauty World off of Mexico & Muggee and they were WONDERFUL. They were so kind, affordable, & did an excellent job on the whole wedding party. I DETEST Salon Center Stage & think they should not be able to advertise how friendly their staff is...as they suck. My husband called the owner of the salon & all she had to say was Stacy was wrong for the way she handled everything but she couldn't do anything about it as the stylists rent their stations...so it was like she was saying she had no control over them.
