This hotel is antiquated and small, but is in a perfect location for many walking trips. We walked to Cantors restaurant, CBS studios, The Grove and The Farmers Market. The owners live on the premises and seem to try hard, but the room we had needed some work. It had been remodeled recently from what we could tell, but small touches were missed. Such as wiping the grout that smudged on the tiles in the bathroom. The electrical plug in the bathroom did not work, so the hair drier wouldn't work either and could not be removed from the wall. The boarder at the top of the wall near the ceiling was peeling and most likely that was caused by the bathroom fan not working either. The sink filled up fast and was slow to drain. The beds were very firm, which one of us loved and the other didn't. They did provide 4 pillows per bed, two feather and two foam. The bed cover on one bed was torn and on the other it had burn marks. The blankets were old, too small and scratchy. The sheets were soft enough, but again, too small for the bed. I would find the bottom sheet pulled past the top of the mattress in the morning and more than once was short-sheeted by my feet just from moving around . The rug was dark, which covered up most of the stains, but really needed to be replaced. The TV did not get all the stations their in-room flier said it should and two of the stations were the same. I think we got 7 channels maybe 8. All these things can be changed or fixed, so I'm hoping they will. The price is great for the location, so all they need to do now is replace and fix a few things and this could be a wonderful place to stay. I would stay there again even with these problems because I don't live in my room, I just use it to sleep in and keep my stuff. But for anyone who likes a beautiful room this is not for you. Oh, and the parking is very limited and small! If you have a large car or SUV you might not fit. Also park and stay put or you might not get a space when you come back at night. They said you could park on the side street, but there weren't too many spaces there either and there was limitations on when and were you could park on the street. They also charge you 75 cents for local calls, even to 800 numbers if you use a phone card. They charge 25 cents for ice, but you get a lot of ice. More than the little bucket they give you for ice.
