I recently experienced an unknown problem with my computer. Since I had used the services of SMComputers (Sergio and his wife)in the past, I called and was told to drop off my computer so it could be checked out. The next day I got a call from Sergio telling me the computer was running fine. He suggested I drop off the Acer monitor (which I had bought at SMComputers a year and a half earlier).
Sergio lost no time in identifying the problem (right there in front of me as I watched). The backlight was defective. OK, I was expecting to have to shell out another $300 to replace it. Instead, Sergio went online to the Acer website, and checked the status of the warranty. To my amazement the monitor has a year and a half left on its 3 year warranty. I had no idea, and would never have thought of doing what Sergio did.
Ignoring how much time he was spending helping me out, he then printed out the needed paperwork so that I could mail the monitor back to Acer for repair/replacement. I then mailed it off to the address Sergio had provided me with.
As if this great service that I had been provided was not enough, Sergio declined to charge me a cent for all the time and work he expended!
We had a wonderful chat and I left realizing how fortunate I was. Someone else would not have taken the time and effort to inform me of the warranty, they would have simply sold me a replacement
I cannot say enough positive words about Sergio and his wife. This terrific Brazilian couple are a real gift to the city of Lowell. I recommend to all that if you are looking for the best technical and customer service for your computer needs go to SMComputers, you will be most satisfied, I assure you.
