Very bad experience!
Took my A4 here for the major timing belt service, which most everyone told me should also include replacing the following items, water pump, thermostat, serpentine belt, and all relevant tensioners and pullies. (A big job)
After calling a few Audi expert repair shops I spoke to “Carlos” and was verbally given an estimate that was almost 40% less than anyone else. Naturally I jumped at the opportunity and made a reservation with Carlos to bring my Audi in for the service; little did I know I was in for a horrible ride.
I did my best to ask Carlos weather he was familiar with my model Audi and the big service in question, Carlos assured me that their shop had done that exact service on my exact model Audi many times without missing a beat. I that point I felt good about taking my car here, upon leaving my car there I was given an estimate that did not even include some the items we talked about replacing over the phone. I instantly became weary of their attention to detail, after pointing out this mishap Carlos quickly and kindly remedied the estimate with a new one.
Long story short, I picked up my car with a strange sound coming from the engine which Carlos stated “will go away in a couple of days”, wow!, I’ve never heard that before, not only did the noise not go away, but it got worse, at which point I called the shop to bring the car back, they went back & forth with me over the span of 2 weeks trying to rectify this noise stating that it was not their fault (really?) and that one of the (brand new) belt tensioner’s was failing over & over again and that to fix the problem I would have to take my car to the Audi dealer where they purchased the part from and take the issue up with them, all on my time and money. Apparently I would have to pay the dealer $110 in diagnostic fees to check my car, all of this after I have already paid a so called Audi expert shop to do this job.
I resulted to going to another Audi expert shop (a real one) to have these issue fixed, after which all has been well.
I should also add that Carlos “attemped” to repair my a/c which he was unsuccessful at as well, and my car developed a coolant leak soon after this service was done, which turned out to be a leaking heater core which is something Carlos and his crew should have noticed and brought to my attention, which also never happened.
I would NEVER take my car here, regardless of brand, I would like to say that personally speaking I believe Carlos to be a very nice person; unfortunately in my opinion his technicians lack the expertise to be working on such high end cars the likes of Audi, BMW, M-B, and Porsche. This shop is probably capable of minor repairs like brakes etc, but not major work.
In the end my total cost for getting my car fixed far exceeded the 40% savings offered by Carlos.
Very bad experience!
