Not to throw a wet blanket on others' opinions, but Zoup was a dazzling disappointment. But try it once, and you be the judge.
Soup (hence, Zoup) is featured on the menu. There's decidedly a wide variety. Some were better than others. None was spectacular. The hearty potato and chicken, lobster bisque, chicken and dumplings, and New England Clam Chowder were among the ones we sampled. Sadly, all were just "OK." No knockouts. But given the quality, it makes the prices all the more offensive. An eight-ounce cup of broccoli cheddar was $4.25. Yikes! And a 12-ounce potato/chicken/dill was $5.35. Candidly, none was worth the price. They do change almost daily, but in most cases, many are standards and remain consistently on the menu.
You can also opt for a "bread boule," but the price escalates proportionally. There are also salads and combos.
Sandwiches can accompany any zoup. Most half sandwiches - and they are a small half - were $3.95. Whole sandwiches are just a nickel shy of $6.00. That wouldn't be all that bad if they were generous, but that's not the case. In most cases, you have a choice of ciabatta bread or a multigrain flatbread wrap.
The restaurant is situated in a strip center not all that far from both the expressway (I-475/US-23) and the Ohio Turnpike. You can dine in or even order on-line and pick up for "to-go." If you're in the area and want to, take your chances and try it. Chances are, you won't return.
