Hi Mark, Joan Kasevich here. I don't see a e-mail site to send a message, so I will use the review one... Just wondering how your Mom is doing. After Dailysis on Thursday she looked horrible. I knew she was sick the moment I saw her. She was looking the same way as before when she needed to go to the hospital when she refused to say the following day. The staff was trying to help her get in my car but she didn't want to go. It took us about 1/2 hr. to coaxe Peg either to go in my car or be transported to Suffield. She finally agreed to go in my car.
Back at Suffield I needed assistance in getting her out of the car, so Denise came to help. When helping her up Peg was letting out some screams, we thought she thought she was going to fall.
Back at her room she was put in her chair. She was looking very uncomfortable. I asked if she was in pain, she said, No The nurse said she needed to get up & walk to the bathroom to see if could walk. It took her a long time to get up and they wanted her to see if she could handle the walker, plus it was perfect she needed to go to the bathroom. She could never go along in doing that again, she was very unstable in doing so. The nurse & myself were on each side of her when walking. We put her back in the wheelchair in the bathroom, couldn't make that walk again.
As we got her back to the sitting area Trish came in as was going to have diiner with her. We said she was sick and not up to anything. Peg didn't want to answer any question on her health which Trish was asking.
Next the nurse came in saying the EMT's were coming to bring her to the hospital. With Peg being sick to her stomach & didn't eat her breakfast or lunch being in back pain plus not able to walk alone. They said she needed to be checked out at the hospital. The nurses say with her condition now they are not able to take care of her with all the other residents needed help. The nurses say she needs to be on the other side until she can do for herself again. She have may fractured her back when falling those times.
I haven't heard anything about Peg at this point. She is beyond my care with lifting to transport her to & from Dialysis. Any news from her condtion please send me a e-mail wih any update.. Thanks, Joan Address:
