Joan Myers Brown founded Philadanco in 1970 as a modern dance venue in a traditional town. When they're in town, they perform at the main halls on the Avenue of the Arts (Philadelphia's Broad Street between Market and South Streets) and when they're in New York you can usually find them at Lincoln Center.
