It was used during the American Civil War by Union troops and suffered heavy damages during the war. It was repaired in 1908 with government grants and stills stands today with a strong and active congregation. Children, youth, women's and senior ministries are available for members where they can deepen and strengthen their relationship with God. The church has an extensive bible study program and conducts frequent lectures on Christian theology by noted personalities. It is involved in many local, national and international social services project and strives to help the homeless, disabled and poor people in the community. The music program is also quite noteworthy with Adult, Youth and Children's choirs.
