We make choices in our lives that separate us from God ( those negative choices are called sin ). Because of sin in our lives, we deserve punishment. God sent His Son Jesus who died on a cross to pay the penalty for our sins. Jesus was buried in a tomb, but rose again ( came back to life ) on Easter Sunday. God wants every person to become a follower of Jesus. In order to do that, we must admit that we have sinned and done wrong things in our lives. We must believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and that He rose from the dead. We must ask Jesus to be the Leader of our lives and the Forgiver of our sins. Becoming a follower of Jesus means that we are willing to follow the commands and teachings of Jesus.
