While his computer business in Atlanta at the time was doing well, he was amazed at the high-tech nature of Huntsville, and the lack of truly professional computer shops that were in place to service it. Hong intended for DTM to be a different kind of computer store. He was less interested in making a lot of money on a single sale, and was much more interested in becoming the sole source for computers and accessories for his customers over a long period of time.
