After the acquisition of one of its top competitors, Scranton Foods in 1987, it was necessary to provide a separate identity and expanded facilities to better serve the needs of the delivered foods business. Schiff's Food Service, Inc. was incorporated as a separate entity in August 1990. In addition, Schiff's Food Service relocated to a food service facility in Taylor, Pa. A USDA meat-cutting facility was added in order to provide specialty meat cutting that is required by the food service industry.
