With a seating capacity for about 1200 people, the highlight of the church is the main altar that is made of smooth Italian marble with a canopy resembling the one at the Basilica of St. Paul in Rome. Dating back to the late 18th Century, the church is one of the oldest structures with 14-foot (4.2-meter) long church crosses were visible for several miles, thus making it a significant landmark, even used by the pilots during their flight.
