   MoreDr. Westrich was the first retinal specialist to offer treatment for diseases of the retina in his hometown of Cape Girardeau, Missouri in 1989. In 1991, he founded Cape Retinal Surgery Center, now called EyeCare Specialists, to encompass the multi-specialty facility and services we offer today. After graduating Valedictorian of his 1980 Southeast Missouri State University class, Dr. Westrich graduated Magna cum laude from St. Louis University School of Medicine where he was also a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He performed his internship, also at St. Louis University School of Medicine, before completing his residency and fellowship training in Vitreoretinal surgery at Vanderbilt University where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Westrich is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He holds memberships in the American Society of Retina Specialists, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Less
