The restaurant was on the front of the dining section in the Houston Post and the Houston Chronicle, twice. Then, in 1990, Chef Chan opened the second location in The Woodlands. His son Lawrence, who trained and worked for Chef Chan in both of his New York restaurants, manages the restaurant.
