Before starting his own firm, Mr. Gerdes was a partner at Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP where he practiced for nine years in that firm's Litigation and Bankruptcy Departments. At both firms, Mr. Gerdes has represented a wide range of clients in a variety of legal matters in both state and federal courts involving litigation and bankruptcy, including individual debtors (Chapters 7 and 13), corporate debtors (Jacobson Stores, Inc., Thorn Apple Valley, Inc., Awrey Bakeries), bankruptcy trustees (Chapters 7, 11 and 12), plaintiffs and defendants in non-dischargeability, objection to discharge, preference, lien avoidance and fraudulent transfer proceedings, banks, franchisors, automotive suppliers, landlords and secured lenders.
