Opened in 2009, and located on 18th Street in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood, Studio One Chicago is home to artist Nuco Villanueva (@n_u_c_o) who has been tattooing for over 25 years. His expertise is in Japanese Traditional Tattoos and works by appointment. What sets Nuco’s work apart from others is his technique and precision. He has a deep understanding of traditional Japanese subject matter and has been studying and applying these principles to his paintings and tattoos. A lot of prepping and planning goes into each project, and you can see the level of detail he has created through layers and movement in his tattoos. Nuco is available for in-person and out-town phone consultations, and requires a deposit to begin scheduling 1st session.
