His father was born in Italy and his mother was born in Greece. He graduated from John Carroll University for his undergraduate studies in 1994, before graduating from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Missouri, where he obtained his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in 1998. He then went on to serve a medical internship at Summa Health System in Akron, Ohio, where he also completed his ophthalmology residency in 2002. Dr. Cirino served as chief resident in his final year of residency.  He stays up to date with the latest advancements in his field. Dr. Cirino holds memberships in the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Ohio Ophthalmological Society.
