   MoreDr. Nicholas Lancaster, SharpeVision Refractive Surgeon was born and raised near Seattle, WA. He is recognized as the first military surgeon to perform Toric ICL in Texas. For the next three years, he worked, learned Spanish, and traveled around Colombia and nearby countries, meeting his wife, Paola, along the way, and also rediscovering a passion for science he had as a kid. In 2008 he entered the University Of Washington School Of Medicine. By 2012 Dr. Lancaster had set his sights on ophthalmology as his specialty, and his family had grown to include a son, Sam, and a daughter, Karen. In 2013 he began ophthalmology residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. During his three year residency, he had the opportunity to take part in Operation Continuing Promise 2015, a humanitarian mission aboard the USNS Comfort, performing eye surgeries for Haitian nationals with limited access to healthcare. Also during this time, he had another son, David. In 2016 Dr. Lancaster graduated from ophthalmology residency and was transferred to Fort Hood, where he became staff at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center. In January of 2018, he began his current position as Chief of the ophthalmology service.
