After growing up around orthodontics, Dr. Liebman attended Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey graduating cum laude with a degree in Biology and a certificate for Science in Human Affairs. She then went on to receive her DMD from Fairleigh Dickinson School of Dentistry in Teaneck, New Jersey, where she graduated top of her class, earning the award for Exceptional Interest in the Oro-facial complex granted by the American Association of Orthodontists and was inducted into OKU Honorary Dental Society.  She then went on to continue her postgraduate education at Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery in New York City, earning a certificate in orthodontics in 1988 and was asked to return to teach as a clinical instructor and went on to become the first female president of the Orthodontic Alumni Society of Columbia University.
