   MoreWind in the Willows is one of San Francisco's oldest preschools, established in the mid 1970’s. We are a part-day play based program that believes an enriching curriculum (which includes art, music, dance/movement, science and nature, occasional walking/neighborhood field trips and pre-math and pre-reading activities) allow children to learn at their own pace and develop critical social-emotional skills in addition to growing their early literacy, phonics and mathematical skills. We encourage children to be creative in a variety of ways with arts and crafts materials, problem solving activities and in dramatic play with friends. Within our program, there is a designated Pre-K work time, for children who will be entering kindergarten the following school year. This curriculum strand was developed to help children gain skill in large and fine motor areas, as well as pre-reading, writing, math and science. We also have a standard preschool classroom for the younger children who may be entering an early childhood education setting for the very first time. Our program is intentionally designed to be small and intimate, with low student to teacher ratios to allow for stronger bonds and attentive care. Our teaching staff are all experienced and dedicated professionals who believe in the work they do, and put forth their best efforts in providing every single child we serve with a quality care and early education experience.
