He is most passionate about implant dentistry and uses his surgical and prosthetic skill set to restore people's smiles in a conservative and non-invasive way. At Newport Center Smile Design, he performs the majority of oral and dental implant surgeries himself, and offers Invisalign®, full mouth reconstructions, and custom veneers. Dr. Barker decided at a very young age that he wanted to be a dentist. As an orthodontic patient from the age of seven, he remembers the warm compassion he received from his orthodontist and their staff, which left a great impression on him. Today, he strives to exhibit the same compassion for his patients. Originally from Florida, Dr. Barker attended the University of Florida (UF) in Gainesville, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in zoology and participated in research on American alligators. He stayed at UF to complete his Doctorate of Dental Medicine, and he is proud to be a Florida Gator. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Barker moved to Brooklyn, New York, for a two-year general practice residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.
