   MoreOpen Door was founded in 1969 by Pastor Ken Blue in the living room of their small block house in Mount Lake Terrace, Washington. For the first three years the church met and worshipped in several rented buildings. By God's grace and the recommendation of a dear Pastor friend, The church was able to purchase five acres of property on 44th Avenue, a main thoroughfare, in the city of Lynnwood. Through the ministry of Open Door over the years, hundreds have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and scores have surrendered for full time service in the ministry. God continues to bless each week as new families trust Jesus Christ and join the membership of Open Door under the Pastoral leadership of Jason Murphy. Pastor Jason Murphy and his wife Mary were saved through the ministry of Open Door Baptist Church. Jason and Mary were both trained for the ministry by Pastor Blue here at Open Door. Pastor Murphy also received his Pastoral Diploma after graduating from the Open Door Bible Institute where he also served as an Associate Pastor at Open Door for seven years prior to accepting the position of Senior Pastor in October of 2008.
