It soon became an obsession centering around sculptural designs, gemstones and precious metals. I read everything I could get my hands on concerning the subject and set up a workshop at home. After graduating H.S. I went to work for one of the local jewelers who had been kind enough to critique my various pieces, explaining techniques and methods to me. He had a a lot of repairs coming in and trained me in things I hadn't been able to get from the books. That was 45 yrs ago and I 'm still making and repairing jewelry. The only greater passion in my life is the woman I married 43yrs ago and the family we raised! Bev (my wife) strings pearls, changes watch batteries, works the counter, and does all the things necessary to keep me at the workbench. It's definitely a Mom and Pop jewelry shop. Less
