They may even claim to be located locally and to be superlative service providers. Sadly, often they are neither; with little or no standards, proper customer care - and your roof's warranty - may dissapear into the night once storm season is over. Always feel free to ask any roofing contractor lots of questions, and take advantage of the Internet to investigate.
