   MoreWhen she was growing up, Dr. Diana Sedler knew she wanted to work in the medical field. She had an eye for detail and an inclination toward surgical work. She also knew she wanted to help people. This, along with being born into a family of dental professionals, put Dr. Sedler on a natural path to becoming a periodontist. Dr. Sedler completed her periodontics residency in 2019 at the University of Southern California's Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry, where she also completed dental school. While in dental school, Dr. Sedler assisted on a case for a patient who had lost her teeth, couldn't eat and had lost 50 pounds. After treatment, the patient cried with happiness, gained her weight back and began smiling again. Seeing that transformation convinced Dr. Sedler that changing people's lives by changing their smiles was what she had to do. Dr. Sedler is driven by this passion for patient transformation. Whether she is correcting a gummy smile, gum recession, doing sinus elevation or dental implants, Dr. Sedler listens to her patients' needs and concerns first.This intentional chairside manner was inspired by an extended stay in the hospital when Dr. Sedler was young.
