The entire process takes a half of a day and just 24 hours to completely cure and dry, meaning your bathtub, countertop or sink will be back in use by the next day. In our industry, preparation is paramount. We go above and beyond to ensure all surfaces not being refinished are protected and masked off. Any surfaces being refinished must be chemically cleaned to remove soap scum, dirt or body oils that accumulate over time. Additionally, we make any repairs needed to ensure the proper application and longevity of the coating. After the cleaning process, we must create adhesion for the material to properly bond to the surface. For porcelain bathtubs we use an acid to etch the surface, while for fiberglass bathtubs and cultured marble vanities we hand sand the surface to create the proper "grip" required for the material to bond. After the surface has been inspected and properly prepared, we apply a coat of primer which acts as the bonding agent and ensures a solid bond between the old surface and the new finish.
