Shpuntoff graduated S.U.N.Y at Stony Brook and spent time doing Cancer Research at NYU before moving on to study dentistry at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where he graduated with a D.M.D. degree in 1982. Upon earning his DMD degree, Dr. Shpuntoff completed an advanced dentistry residency at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. with a specialty training in dental implants and in 1983, he received his Certificate in Implantology. He was in charge of Geriatric Dental Services at The Samuel Schulman Institute in Brooklyn from 1983 to 1988. Dr. Shpuntoff received his Certificate in Orthodontics in 1990 from NYU Dental School. Dr. Shpuntoff was president of the Queens County Dental Society 2001. He is currently an active member of the Board of Trustees of the Queens County Dental Society and a delegate to the New York State Dental Society.
