It operates more than nine firehouses, and has engine companies, ladder companies, tankers, command vehicles, a heavy rescue vehicle, a fire boat, light vehicle, support service vehicle, two reserve engines, fire investigations unit and staff vehicles. The department protects more than 50,000 citizens living in an area of more than 60-square- miles.Biloxi Fire Department serves a diverse community consisting of a large area of residential multiunit dwellings with a significant tourist industry that includes nine casino resorts.
