   MoreDuring the Winter we have two rental options: A cozy small wood "yurt" with a woodburing stove for warmth. It was originally a Navajo "Hogan" little round house. We also have a 2 bedroom house on the campground for vacation rental. Both have the 360 views of Mountains & Mesas. Bright Star Campground is on 40 acres with expansive Southwest, Colorado views including Mesa Verde Nat'l Park. From April - Oct Campers enjoy amenities such as an equipped camper's kitchen with filtered water, ice, cooking appliances, and dishes. Hot showers and bathrooms are central as well as a large furnished Pavilion for shade, dining and socializing. Campsites are not crowded together and some are covered! We have years of excellent 5-star reviews on many booking sites! Although just five miles from downtown Cortez, CO, you will feel away from town while under the bright stars and fiery 360-degree Sunsets. We are at 6200' elevation on the Colorado Plateau in the high desert Sage Plains. Summer evenings cool down to 50 - 68 deg. We offer a furnished Navajo "Hogan" (similar to a small wood Yurt) with a wood stove (for cozy winter camping). We also have Tent/Van/Camper sites, Boondocking, Rustic Cabins, Large camping Tipis, or you can rent a bunk in one of our Hostel Style Bunkhouses. Our 2 bdr 2 bath Vacation Rental house is on Airbnb called "Starhouse" in Cortez. Cannabis is legal in Colorado, it is allowed here on our private campground. We are Pet Friendly.
