Sunday Services: 8am,10:30am, 5:30pm. Wednesday Healing Service: 12:10pm. Saint John's Episcopal Church was founded on the corner of Semmes and Spottswood in 1878. They constructed the current building at Central and Greer in 1948, under the leadership of The Rev. Alfred "Tib" Loaring-Clark. Saint John's first rector, The Rev. Loaring Clark, and his successor, The Rev. Wallace M. "Penny" Pennepacker, led the church for a combined 57 years and grew it into a large congregation in what is now known as the University District.In more recent years, Saint John's has become a place for growing families, community engagement, and spiritual healing.
