The Studio is located in Doylestown, PA, and is equipped with 2 lovely grand pianos and a Yamaha digital keyboard. Keys In Motion is a privately owned studio offering private piano lessons and group Musicianship classes, as well as many other activities designed to enhance the study of music and engage the student in the process of learning to play piano, reading music, performing, and making music with others. Kathy Dykstra, the teacher and owner, is a highly qualified teacher with 20+ years of teaching experience, as well as years of training in piano pedagogy at Rider University/Westminster Conservatory, MTNA and NCKP yearly national conferences, and Master classes. Focusing on the individual learning styles of each student, she works with the student's strengths to build a solid foundation in the areas of reading music, building technical skills, understanding music theory and musical style, and ear training. In addition to the private piano lesson, students are encouraged to participate in monthly Group Musicianship/Performance classes which take place at the Studio with other students of the same age and ability level.
