In 1925, Miles Ezell established Ezell s Dairy. In 1945, the dairy operation merged with Rosebank Dairies and Purity Dairies was born. Miles Ezell established many common innovations in today s dairy market, such as refrigerated tanks on farms, vacuum pasteurization (which keeps 'onion' flavor out of milk), non-wax milk cartons and the yellow plastic jug. In 1998, Purity Dairies joined Dean Foods, the nation's leading dairy processor and distributor. Purity is still family-operated and is the only remaining dairy in Davidson County.
