With a particular strength in American modernism, the gallery is especially known for handling works by Oscar Bluemner, Charles Burchfield, Charles Demuth, Arthur Dove, Marsden Hartley, and Georgia O'Keeffe. We also have selective holdings by American abstract artists of the 1930s and 1940s, including Charles Biederman, Werner Drewes, Frederick Kann, George L.K. Morris, and Charles Shaw. The gallery also represents the estate of Larry Day, and carries forward to the present with works by Joel Graesser and William Scharf. Within the nineteenth century, we have handled works by Fitz Henry Lane, William Merritt Chase, Joseph Decker, and John Singer Sargent. The gallery has long-standing relationships with museums around the country and has placed works of art by Charles Biederman, Larry Day, John Marin, William Scharf and others in major museum collections.
