   MoreWhen freedom enters the vein, there’s no going back. That’s exactly what happened when Steven Yarak’s idea of a community-owned brewpub was brewing. Taking inspiration from the Black Star of Ghana, the Black Star Co-op came into existence. Black Star Co-op is touted to be the first cooperatively-owned and self-managed brewpub in the world. It is owned by a community of over 3,000 individuals and organizations. The head brewer Jeff Young has crafted very interesting beers throughout the years. This includes the popular Freyja Bohemian lager and Vulcan Rye IPA. The food menu features dishes prepared from locally sourced ingredients. Try the special Denver Steak while you are at it.
